The BarxBuddy staff reads every product review from our customers. Yep, we even read the BarxBuddy complaints and negative reviews, as they mean just as much, if not more, than the positive ones. We believe there is always room for improvement. We take your feedback seriously and address issues as soon as possible. Hearing some of you are having trouble with the BarxBuddy device, as pet lovers ourselves, we want to help you fix the problem, so here are a few suggestions.
My Dog Just Stares At Me When I Use My Ultrasonic Trainer
One of the common complaints is the user reports they push the BarxBuddy ON button and their dog just stares back. The good news is, if this describes your experience with the BarxBuddy, then congrats, it’s working. You got your dog’s attention, and now it’s time to offer him a command and praise. We know it can be frustrating when you feel like you don’t have control over your pet’s barking. You have power; you just need to regain it the right way. Our BarxBuddy resources provide a host of training tips you may find helpful in addressing your dog’s barking issues.
My Dog Ignores Ultrasonic Sounds
Some dogs are so focused on or motivated by whatever trigger that they ignore any distraction technique you attempt, including ultrasonic sounds and electronic fences. Why your dog is barking can help you determine what approaches may prove helpful outside of using the BarxBuddy.
For example: if your dog is barking out of boredom, you have several options to address this issue, like providing more physical exercise and mental stimulation. Teaching your dog impulse control can help discourage frustration or excitement barking. Regardless of technique, patience and time are necessary.
My Dog Can’t Hear the BarxBuddy Ultrasonic Sound
If you press and release the button on the BarxBuddy and you get no response from your pet, and they continue to bark, you may be left wondering, can the dog hear the sound?
There are several reasons why your dog can’t hear the sounds. You may need to get closer to your dog. The BarxBuddy has a range of about 40 to 60 feet. The further away you are, the weaker the signal.
Another possibility is that your dog suffers from hearing loss for many reasons, such as ear infections in both ears, hypothyroidism, cognitive disorder, and age. Senior dogs, especially, may have a more challenging time hearing ultrasonic sounds. Having your pet’s hearing checked can indicate whether your pet suffers from hearing loss. If they do have a hearing issue, slide the light button on the BarxBuddy and try distracting your pet with the infrared light (do not direct the light into your dog’s face but at some other point nearby, like the ground).
It may simply be that your dog is not fazed by ultrasonic sound. If that’s the case, contact the BarxBuddy team. The best way to reach us is by email at email@example.com
My BarxBuddy Doesn’t Seem to Work
We’ve had some complaints about BarxBuddy devices not working. If you’re not getting any attention from your dog when you press and release the ON button, and you know your pet doesn’t suffer from a hearing issue, you may need to troubleshoot the device.
First, check whether the device has power. You can’t hear the ultrasonic sounds emitted, so you’ll need to turn on the light switch. If the light comes on, the device is working. On the other hand, if the light fails to work, make sure the 9-volt battery is installed correctly. Replace the battery if needed, and try the light again. If the light works, you’re good to go. If, however, the BarxBuddy doesn’t turn on, you can reach out to BarxBuddy at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions about refund options.
